President Ramnath Kovind on Saturday ruled that there was not an adequate representation of women in higher science and called for speedy efforts to overcome the problem.
“Women’s involvement in science and technology encounters bias in regard to disciplines and academic or professional level of responsibility,” observed Kesari Nath Tripathi, Governor of West Bengal, while inaugurating the Women Science Congress during in the Indian Science Congress session here.
Climate change impacts are being felt in many parts of the country, as manifested in erratic rainfall, extreme weather events and changes in cropping patterns. Adapting to these changes at the farm and household levels is critical.
